Karrion Kross’ Proposed AEW Debut Was Abandoned

Karrion Kross, Killer Kross

Former NXT Champion Karrion Kross was apparently set to debut for AEW recently before deciding to walk away from the offer.

Now known in his post WWE life as Killer Kross, the former NXT Champion was released by WWE in November 2021 along with his wife Scarlett Bordeaux. The pair had been a fixture on the black and gold brand but when Kross debuted on the main roster in the summer of 2021, Scarlett was noticeably absent from the presentation.

Fightful Select has now reported that Karrion Kross was set to debut on AEW recently as part of the ongoing feud between MJF and Wardlow. MJF has made Wardlow jump through hoops to earn a match with him at Double Or Nothing and Mr. Mayhem has recently had to face the likes of The Butcher, Lance Archer, and AEW debutant W. Morrissey.

The report suggests that Kross was approached first about filling the role that Morrissey took on with a tentative plan put in place for him to work the 4th of May edition of Dynamite that was held in Baltimore, Maryland.

However, Fightful notes that things began to go south on the deal between Karrion Kross and AEW when he became aware that Scarlett would once again not be by his side for the appearance. It’s said Kross was concerned debuting in that way would have been similar to his ill-fated spell on the WWE main roster where he flew solo previously.

Both sides are said to be on good terms and there is the prospect of Kross and AEW working together in the future.

Kross is slated to be a part of the upcoming WES show promoted by The Authors Of Pain that will take place in the 10,000-seat Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, England on the 4th of June.
