A new report sheds light on the status of Karrion Kross following his WWE return on SmackDown!
On August 5th it was reported that WWE had held talks with Karrion Kross over a return to the company. The former two-time NXT Champion was released by WWE back in November after what was considered by many to be an underwhelming spell on the main roster as part of the Raw brand.
While the reports got fans talking they didn’t have to wait long to see the former star as he arrived on Friday Night SmackDown just hours later to the shock and amazement of everyone involved, attacking Drew McIntyre. What’s more, he didn’t come alone, arriving side by side with his real life partner Scarlett.
According to a report from PWInsider, the former Killer Kross has been officially added to WWE’s internal roster. What’s more, the returning star is considered to be the #2 heel on SmackDown, second behind only Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. With Reigns working a limited schedule when it comes to his WWE appearances, this means that Kross will play a major role on the blue brand.
PWInsider also reports that Scarlett will continue to be managing her real life husband. There aren’t immediate plans for her to wrestle regularly, but that option is available if need be.
Furthermore, the report notes that after the couple was released from WWE last year, they remained in constant communication with those in the company and the change in power structure following Vince McMahon’s retirement was said to work in their favor.
Karrion Kross and Scarlett are still booked for some independent appearances and are expected to finish up as many of those as possible according to the report.
