Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows Make Shock NJPW Return

Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson

Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows have made their shocking return to NJPW at Wrestling Dontaku, attacking a former OG Bullet Club member in the process.

NJPW’s Wrestling Dontaku marked the ninth anniversary of the birth of the infamous Bullet Club faction. On a night of surprises, twists and turns, the group made their presence felt throughout and the first shock was one of the biggest.

As Tama Tonga – who was kicked out of Bullet Club earlier this year – celebrated his defeat of Bullet Club’s EVIL for the NEVER Openweight Championship, The Good Brothers – Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows – made their way to the ring to audible gasps from the crowd. The pair attacked Tama Tonga, with Anderson picking up his newly won title, hinting that he would be Tonga’s first challenger.

Although they competed on NJPW’s US-based show STRONG in 2021, this was the first appearance of Gallows and Anderson in Japan since 2016 when they left the promotion to join WWE. In their first run in the company, the duo were three-time IWGP Tag Team Champions.

Later in the night, they joined the rest of Bullet Club in the ring after their leader, Jay White, laid out Kazuchika Okada and challenged him to a match for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Okada had successfully defended minutes earlier against Tetsuya Naito.

As well as the returns of Gallows, Anderson, and White to Japan, Bullet Club gained a new member as Juice Robinson appeared sporting a jacket with the faction’s logo and attacked new United States Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi.
