Kane Re-Elected As Mayor Of Knox County

WWE Hall of Famer Glenn Jacobs, better known to wrestling fans as Kane, will remain as mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.

The 55 year old Republican was declared the winner in the mayoral race after defeating Democratic nominee Debbie Helsley on Thursday night. Having first been elected in 2018, Jacobs will now serve a second term for a further four years.

Celebrating his victory, the three-time World Champion, business owner and self-proclaimed libertarian, provided the following message on his social media thanking his supporters who voted for him:

“THANK YOU Knox County for electing me to serve a second term as your mayor.

I am so grateful for the support you have shown me and my family throughout my campaign for re-election, and will continue to do all I can to serve you to the best of my ability.”

In June, Kane encountered a great deal of fallout for his comments when reacting to the United States Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade – the court’s landmark 1973 judgment which made abortion a constitutional right. There was an outcry against Jacobs from numerous pro wrestling stars across all promotions for his remarks.

The Big red Machine was last seen on WWE TV at Summerslam this past weekend where he featured in a short segment to announce the attendance of 48,449 for the show at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

The ‘half-brother’ of the Undertaker last held a WWE championship back in 2019 when he captured the 24/7 title from R-Truth whilst taking him on a tour of the University of Tennessee. Kane was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2021.
