Kamille Crowned New NWA Women’s World Champion

Kamille NWA

Kamille is the new NWA Women’s World Champion after defeating Serena Deeb at NWA’s latest pay-per-view When Our Shadows Fall.

Kamille and Deeb put on a great match that saw NWA’s powerhouse score the win around the fifteen-minute mark. After delivering a huge spear to AEW’s Deeb, she captured the title in what played out to be a passing-of-the-torch moment.

Deeb held the title for 222 days after beating Thunder Rosa for the championship on UWN Primetime Live back in October of last year.

This show was NWA’s second pay-per-view since their return to regular programming. The global pandemic heavily affected the promotion, which closed its doors for eight months. The company came back in March with a host of new faces and a deal with FITE.

NWA ran its first pay-per-view in over a year with Back For The Attack, where Kamille became the number one contender for the women’s title by defeating former champion, Thunder Rosa.

The title change brings the championship back to its rightful home after being utilised on AEW for the past twelve months.

The other results from the show are as follows;

  • Tyrus defeated The Pope
  • Kylie Rae and Taryn Terrell beat Thunder Rosa and Melina
  • JTG bested Fred Rossiter
  • Aron Stevens and Kratos defeated The War Gods and Strictly Business
  • Nick Aldis retained the NWA World Heavyweight Championship against Trevor Murdoch.

Elsewhere on the show, former IMPACT Wrestling and AEW Superstar Kylie Rae was announced as the throwback promotions latest signing.

The news broke during the pay-per-view When Our Shadows Fall that “Smiley” Kylie had signed a new deal with the promotion.

Rae made her NWA in-ring debut at the show. Rae scored her first victory when she and Taryn Terrell defeated Thunder Rosa and Melina.
