According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Kairi Sane is struggling to gain WWE approval to appear for Japanese promotion, Stardom.
In the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer noted that the marvel was approached by the all female company to appear on their March 3 event at Budokan Hall in Tokyo, but has yet to receive clearance from WWE to appear.
As per the report, the former NXT Women’s Champion has already contacted WWE’s Japanese office about the appearance but got nowhere in her endeavours.
Though the superstar retired from active in-ring competition in 2020, she is still currently under WWE contract and serves as an ambassador for the promotion in the land of the rising sun where she now resides with her husband, and requires permission should she require to make appearances elsewhere.
However, neither party are said to be ruling out a showing as Sane gained permission from WWE to appear backstage on the promotion’s Yokohama Cinderella event in October.
Stardom’s show on March 3 will bring back legends from the company’s history, thus why they wanted Sane on the show being a former World Of Stardom, Wonder Of Stardom, three time Goddess Of Stardom and four time Artist Of Stardom Champion and one of the company’s biggest names in their illustrious history.
Kairi Sane last competed inside a ring on July 7, when she won her final match against Bayley on Monday Night Raw.
