Joshi wrestling star Kagetsu is set to make a one-off return to the ring this year as part of a tribute show for the late Hana Kimura.
The show, entitled ‘See You Again’ will emanate from Korakuen Hall on May 23rd and is being co-organised by Hana’s mother Kyoko, ASUKA (or Veny, from the AEW Women’s Eliminator tournament) and Kagetsu herself.
The event is slated to feature three matches, as well as a memorial service for Hana.
An 11 year plus pro, Kagestu announced her retirement from wrestling on Christmas Day of 2019, much to the chagrin of fans of Joshi promotions such as Stardom and Sendai Girls, whom the grappler had been linked with throughout her career.
She had forged a close relationship with Hana Kimura as part of the Oedo Tai stable in Stardom and has been credited with aiding the improvement of Hana and others throughout her tenure with the promotion.
Throughout a glittering career, Kagetsu held the World of Stardom Championship, the Artist of Stardom Championship (twice) and the Goddess of Stardom Championships (twice), once with Hana and the second time with her mother Kyoko.
