“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry is currently in the midst of the biggest run of his AEW career.
While the star has found success in the tag team ranks previously, for the first time he is now making waves in the main event picture.
Throughout his time in AEW, Perry has been incredibly popular with audiences, in large part due to his high-flying in-ring style. The star has never been afraid to throw caution to the wind in search of one more massive move to get the better of his opponent.
During a convention appearance for The Love of Wrestling with Monopoly Events, Jungle Boy was asked about who he takes advice from backstage about piecing these high-energy matches together.
The former Tag Team Champion said that while he often speaks to Luchasaurus, he wouldn’t talk to Billy Gunn who “hates” Canadian Destroyers.
“I guess I like to talk to people–I used to like to talk to Luchasaurus a lot. I feel like working with him a lot. He kind of really knew my style and I guess what I was good at and what I was looking for. I think there are a lot of people, I think who don’t, I think everybody thinks of wrestling kind of differently. And I don’t think right before you go is the best time to start talking to Billy Gunn, who hates Canadian Destroyers. So I kind of talk to people within my kind of vein of what I’m trying to do for the day.”
Jungle Boy Heading For World Title Shot
As part of his rise to the main event, Jungle Boy has found himself in search of the AEW World Championship. Meanwhile, Sammy Guevara and Darby Allin have also enjoyed similar rises, putting AEW’s “Four-Pillars” in competition for the company’s top prize.
The end result is that it has been confirmed that MJF will defend his AEW World Title against Jungle Boy, Darby Allin, and Sammy Guevara at Double or Nothing.
