Jungle Boy has found out when he will be cashing in his chips from Double Or Nothing’s Casino Battle Royal and facing Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship.
At Double Or Nothing, Jungle Boy entered the Casino Battle Royal along with 20 other AEW stars as they looked to battle it out for a shot at the company’s top prize. The match saw the surprise AEW debut of former NXT Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush as he entered as the 21st entrant having drawn the Joker card.
The match came down to Jungle Boy, Christian Cage, Matt Hardy, and Hardy’s ‘Hardy Family Office’ associates Private Party. In the end, Cage and Jungle Boy were able to rid the ring of the villains and it came down to those two to battle it out. The man representing Jurassic Express claimed the upper hand and eliminated Christian Cage in what many fans saw as an upset. Those jam-packed into Daily’s Place regarded it as another chance to sing along with the winner’s ‘Tarzan Boy’ theme music.
On AEW’s special Friday night edition of Dynamite, it was confirmed that the title match for the AEW World Championship on a Saturday night edition of AEW’s flagship show taking place on the 26th of June.
Also on this week’s Dynamite, the last two men in the Casino Battle Royal as Jungle Boy teamed with Cage to face Private Party. Marq Quen was forced into submission when Jungle Boy locked him in the Snare Trap for the win.
However, this edition of AEW Dynamite is more likely to be remembered historically for a surprise debut on the show. Former WWE United States Champion Andrade, now Andrade El Idolo, made his way to the ring at the behest of Vickie Guerrero. Andrade warned the AEW locker room that he had arrived to become the face of All Elite Wrestling.
