Julia Hart Announces Engagement

Julia Hart

AEW’s Julia Hart will be ditching the House of Black attire for a wedding dress soon as she announces her engagement to a fellow AEW star!

Julia Hart and Lee Johnson are engaged to be married.

Hart dropped the heartwarming news during her appearance on the latest AEW Unrestricted podcast, revealing that she and ‘Big Shotty’ have actually been engaged for a few months now. She explained to hosts Aubrey Edwards and Tony Schiavone that although they initially started out as friends after meeting at the Nightmare Factory, feelings soon developed.

As Julia Hart detailed, it was Lee Johnson who made the first move, asking her if she wanted to watch wrestling and eat pizza:

“We are engaged. Now, it sounds weird saying ‘boyfriend,’ I’m like, ‘What? He’s my fiance.’ Nobody really knows that but we also don’t care, but we also didn’t make a huge post about it. Anyway, we did meet at the Nightmare Factory, we were just friends at first.

Then one day he asked me, he’s like, ‘Hey, do you want to get pizza and watch wrestling?’ And I was like, ‘Sure.’ I didn’t really have any friends in Georgia so I was like, ‘Sure, I’m not doing anything.’ Then the next thing you know we are literally hanging out until 7am just talking and just clicking, having the best time ever.”

Julia Hart explained that Lee Johnson is her “dream man” in every way:

“He’s the best, I don’t know, I just couldn’t ask for anyone better. He’s like my dream man. He just has everything I could ask for in a guy, it’s great. I can’t wait for him to come back.”

Julia Hart first appeared for AEW in April 2021, picking up her first win on the 25 May Dark vs. Tesha Price. Though initially aligned with The Varsity Blonds, Hart officially joined The House of Black at Double or Nothing, debuting a new darker character that she claims to be “obsessed with”.

Lee Johnson, meanwhile, has been used regularly as a lower mid-card talent since April 2020. He put over just about the entire AEW roster before finally scoring his first victory alongside Cody Rhodes over Peter Avalon and Cezar Bononi on the 4 February 2021 Dynamite.
