Judy Bagwell Passes Away Aged 78

Judy Bagwell, the mother of former WCW star Buff Bagwell has sadly passed away at the age of 78.

Bagwell appeared on WCW television numerous times where she was briefly a WCW Tag Team Champion alongside Rick Steiner. She was later involved in the infamous “Judy Bagwell on a Forklift Match” at WCW New Blood Rising in 2000 along with her son and Chris Kanyon.

Buff Bagwell shared the news of his mother’s passing via his podcast Rebuilding Buff.

“It is with a heavy heart we must announce that this past Friday the matriarch of the Bagwell family has passed away. Judy Bagwell was blessed with three amazing children, a loving husband and so many great memories over the years. Thank you to everyone that has asked about her over the years, and have kept her in your prayers during her battle with dementia. Judy Bagwell was 78. RIP Judy 1943-2021”

Buff Bagwell signed with WCW in 1991, remaining with the company until it was brought by WWE a decade later. During this period, Bagwell won the WCW Tag Team Championship’s on five occasions. Bagwell later joined WWE, but left after only a handful of months with the company.
