Once dominant in NXT, one Judgment Day member made a shocking return to confront a champion on the rainbow brand!
NXT 2.0 is no stranger to main roster stars making appearances, with the likes of AJ Styles, Natalya, and most recently Apollo Crews making their way to the rainbow brand to confront current stars on the rainbow brand. NXT UK stars have also begun to invade in the wake of the news that NXT Europe is on the horizon.
However, it still came as a surprise to see Judgment Day’s Finn Balor appear on the latest episode of NXT 2.0 to confront current NXT Champion Bron Breakker.
Balor’s history with NXT is a storied one, having set a record during his first reign as the longest-reigning NXT Champion in history. While the record for the longest consecutive reign would go on to be held by Adam Cole, Finn Balor returned for a second NXT Championship run in 2020 and holds the record for the longest combined reign at 504 days.
While Finn Balor is firmly re-established on Raw as part of the Judgment Day, he surprised fans by confronting Bron Breakker backstage on the August 30th episode of NXT 2.0, explaining his legacy to the current NXT Champion and declaring that Breakker must protect the storied lineage of the title in his upcoming title unification match with Tyler Bate at Worlds Collide.

Later in the episode, Balor’s teammate Rhea Ripley was shown confronting Blair Davenport ahead of the triple threat match to unify the NXT and NXT UK Women’s Championships this weekend. Davenport is the only competitor in the unification match that does not currently hold a title in either brand.
