Jorge Masvidal is set to return to All Elite Wrestling.
The UFC star appeared for the promotion back in September 2021 where he joined Dan Lambert and Junior Dos Santos in the corner of Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky as they took on Chris Jericho and Jake Hager.
While speaking in a new interview with Jim Varsallone, Masvidal has now revealed that he’s returning to AEW in April. The star said that he’ll be there as a fan, playing up suggestions that Tony Khan might not want him involved in the show due to his previous clash with Chris Jericho.
“I can’t tell you that I’ll be in the show, involved in the show (AEW Dynamite on 4/26) but I can tell you as a fan, I’ll definitely be there. Now, if they got time to include this guy because they know that when I come for these wrestlers, none of that fake stuff. I’m trying to hurt them for real, ask Chris Jericho. Ask anybody that gets in the way, I’m trying to hurt them for real and they know it. So, if they want that heat again, it’s cool but I don’t think they wanna see me back in there after what I did.
Tell you the truth, I’m gonna go as a fan because I love their shows. They got the rowdiest shows when it comes to pro wrestling so I’m gonna be out there definitely just to show love but, I don’t think they want to see that over there. Ever since I did that to Jericho, they’re kind of worried about me.”
Jorge Masvidal Took Out Chris Jericho On Rampage
During his appearance on Rampage back in September 2021, Masvidal decided it wasn’t enough to simply cheer on American Top Team from the sidelines. The star got involved at the end of the match and hit his famous flying knee on Chris Jericho, leaving him laying.
Masvidal famously scored the fastest knock-out in UFC history back in 2019 with the move when he dispatched Ben Askren in just five seconds.
The welterweight star is due to be back in action at UFC 287 on April 8th when he takes on Gilbert Burns.
