Jordan Devlin returned to in-ring competition on this week’s edition of NXT UK.
The NXT Cruiserweight Champion defeated his opponent, Levi Muir via submission; opting for a Texas Cloverleaf after he connected with his trademarked ‘Devlin Side’ suplex. Aggressive as always, Devlin taunted Muir throughout the match. “You don’t belong here with me”, the Irish Ace shouted as he made quick work of his opponent.
After the match, Devlin quickly took to the microphone to send a message to the cruiserweight division. He claimed to be the “one true Cruiserweight Champion”, insisting that anyone fancying a shot at his title must come to “the Jordan Devlin show”.
An impressive athlete in his own right, Devlin’s opponent Levi Muir is a British olympic powerlifter who has spent time time training in Canada with WWE alumni Lance Storm. Though a fresh face on WWE TV, fans of the British independent wrestling scene might be familiar with Muir from a PROGRESS pre-show match in June 2019. Muir was announced to have signed with WWE in January this year alongside Candy Floss, Dani Luna and Pretty Deadly’s Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley.
Jordan Devlin had been absent from WWE TV since March, where he defended his NXT Cruiserweight Championship against Travis Banks. WWE subsequently crowned an interim Cruiserweight Champion in the form of NXT’s Santos Escobar, who defeated Drake Maverick in the NXT Cruiserweight Championship Tournament final.
