Jon Moxley will put his newly won title on the line on AEW Dynamite.
At NJPW Windy City Riot, Jon Moxley captured the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship from Tetsuya Naito. The violent match saw Naito leaving Moxley a bloody mess, but it was the AEW star who picked up the shock win after two Death Rider DDTs on the Los Ingobernables de Japon leader.
The history-making win means that Moxley is the only man to have captured the top titles in WWE, AEW, and NJPW, something he has dubbed the ‘Global Grand Slam.’
Not resting on his laurels, Moxley returned to All Elite Wrestling on the April 17th episode of Dynamite and laid down a challenge to face Don Callis Family member Powerhouse Hobbs in a singles bout. On the following episode of Collision, Callis revealed he had made some calls and the match would now be for Moxley’s IWGP Title.
The match is the first in a line of title matches Moxley already has in front of him. At NJPW Wrestling Dontaku on May 4th, he will defend the championship against House of Torture member Ren Narita, and if he survives that, he will put the gold on the line again at Resurgence on May 11th against his protege Shota ‘Shooter’ Umino.

Jon Moxley Believes He Will Still Be Overlooked Despite Title Win
Before Windy City Riot, Jon Moxley explained why winning the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship wouldn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. According to the star, despite the personal significance of the win for him, he would still be “the most overlooked, disrespected, forgotten about, taken for granted wrestler in the history of this business.”
