After almost three months away it has been announced that Jon Moxley will be returning to AEW television on January 19th.

AEW have announced that Jon Moxley will be making his long awaited return to his wrestling home on the up-coming episode of AEW Dynamite.

The news comes after it was recently confirmed that Moxley would be appearing at The Wrld on GCW on January 23rd at the legendary Hammerstein Ballroom. At the event, Moxley will defend his GCW World Championship against Homicide.

Jon Moxley last competed inside an AEW ring on October 27th 2021. On that occasion he defeated the Dark Order’s Ten in short order to advance to the semi-finals of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament.

However, on November 3rd, AEW President Tony Khan announced that Moxley was stepping away from the ring to enter an inpatient alcohol treatment program.

In a statement announcing the news, Khan said that Moxley was a beloved member of the AEW family commending him on making the brave choice to get help.

Jon Moxley has allowed me to share with you that he is entering an inpatient alcohol treatment program. Jon is a beloved member of the AEW family. We all stand with him and Renee, and all of his family and friends, as he shifts his focus to recovery.

Jon is making a very brave choice to get help, and we’re embracing his choice and supporting him however we can.

Moxley had been scheduled to face Orange Cassidy in the semi-finals of the AEW Eliminator Tournament but was replaced by Miro. In his absence, Miro defeated Cassidy before being defeated by Bryan Danielson at Full Gear. In the process, Danielson became the number one contender for the AEW World Championship.
