Jon Moxley said to be “p*ssed off” at being back at work after a planned six-week break was scrapped.
At the post-All Out media scrum CM Punk launched an astonishing verbal assault on a Hangman Adam Page, Colt Cabana, the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. This led to a confrontation backstage, after which all involved were suspended.
The chaos meant that a number of plans for the following episode of Dynamite had to be changed, with multiple stars who had been due to miss the show drafted in at the last minute.
One such star was Jon Moxley, who had been defeated by Punk at All Out. Instead of taking a break as planned, Moxley appeared early in the show and cut a passionate promo about his desire to lead AEW forward. He as also been included in the tournament to crown a new World Champion after the championship was vacated.
During an appearance on The Tyrus and Timpf podcast Robert Anthony revealed that Moxley was originally planned to take six-week break. He added that the former World Champion was “p*ssed off” about having to return to work.
“[Moxley’s] doing good. Man, he was supposed to be on vacation, six weeks, we were going to go fishing. Now he’s back to work, he’s not too happy about it,” Anthony said.
“He’s pissed off and he’s back at work and he cut a hell of a promo on Wednesday. We’ll see where it goes, you know what I mean? It’s just a lot of negatives in the positives over there.”
After receiving a bye in the first round of the new World Title tournament, Moxley will meet Sammy Guevara in the semi-finals.
