AEW World Champion Jon Moxley has been announced for Josh Barnett’s ‘Bloodsport’ on October 11th.
The former WWE Superstar was originally set to face Josh Barnett in Tampa as part of GCW’s ‘Collective’ over WrestleMania weekend in April. This was ultimately postponed as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to this, Jon Moxley was once again scheduled to face Barnett at ‘Bloodsport II’ in September 2019 before having to pull out due to a nasty MRSA infection.

‘Bloodsport’ has become quite popular due to its unique set of rules in which all matches must end in either a knockout or a submission. This often results in hard-hitting, realistic technical bouts. Originally dubbed “Matt Riddle’s Bloodsport”, Josh Barnett stepped in to take over the brand following Riddle’s move to WWE’s NXT brand in 2018.
Jon Moxley is set to defend his AEW World Championship against Lance Archer at AEW‘s Dynamite Anniversary Show on October 14th, only three days later.
The highly anticipated debut will be streamed live on FITE TV as part of the GCW Collective in Indianapolis, Indiana. Some notable names have already announced for the show, including the likes of Chris Dickinson, Deonna Purrazzo and Homicide.
