Jon Moxley Advertised For AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

Jon Moxley

For those wanting Jon Moxley to be in a match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, it looks like the former IWGP United States Champ may be getting one.

NJPW World took to social media this morning to share a video package of Moxley laying waste to several on the AEW roster as they promote the arrival of the Forbidden Door PPV on June 25 (June 26 in Japan). When translated from Japanese, there’s also a tag line included on the Tweet specific to Moxley:

“You don’t know the real Death Rider yet.”

Moxley main evented last year’s Forbidden Door as he served as the AEW Interim World Heavyweight Champion after CM Punk broke his foot. His challenger was none other than Hiroshi Tanahashi who is also on the card for this year’s event. Moxley does have a NJPW fight on tap at Korakeun Hall in Japan on July 5 as he’ll be taking on El Desperado in a Final Death match.

Jon Moxley May Add To An Already Stacked Card For Forbidden Door 2

Whether Moxley is on the card or not, fans of AEW and NJPW are in store for a night of dream matches. If it is made official, Moxley will join fellow Blackpool Combat Club member Bryan Danielson who will battle Kazuchika Okada in singles action. The aforementioned Tanahashi will challenge MJF for the “Triple B” if Friedman doesn’t weasel his way out of the fight, Kenny Omega will continue his heated rivalry with Will Ospreay, and Jungle Boy Jack Perry will go up against the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion in Sanada after an open challenge was issued. With only four matches made official for the show, it’s very likely that Moxley will get a bout added and rumors continue to swirl regarding what CM Punk’s status is for the event.
