Johnny Knoxville has officially qualified for the 2022 Royal Rumble Match.
In a recent post on social media, Jackass star Johnny Knoxville declared his intention to enter the Royal Rumble. While some laughed off the bold claim, it appears that Knoxville was deadly serious.
On the January 7th episode of SmackDown, Knoxville appeared backstage bumping into self-appointed locker room leader Sami Zayn. The former Intercontinental Champion dismissed Knoxville, saying that he wasn’t qualified to be in the match, as he had no wrestling skills. It was a comment that would come back to bite Zayn surprisingly quickly.
Back in the ring, Zayn was set to take on Rick Boogs. In the end, Zayn couldn’t live with his powerful opponent was ultimately defeated. But the bigger story was still to come.
With Zayn stood with his back to the entrance ramp, on the far side of the ring, Johnny Knoxville ran in and tipped him over the top rope. It was then announced that Knoxville had now qualified for the Royal Rumble match.

In a show of surprises, it was also announced that IMPACT Knockouts Champion Mickie James would be making a stunning WWE return. James hasn’t appeared for WWE since being released by the company in April 2021.
In the weeks after her release it emerged that the former Women’s Champion had her belongings returned to her in a trash bag, a move it emerged had cost a WWE staff member their job.
Following her departure from the company, James returned to the ring as well as creating NWA EmPowerrr, an all-women’s pay-per-view. During this period, the veteran was openly critical of WWE and how they handled their women’s division, as well as their treatment of older female performers.
In the video package it was also confirmed that Hall of Famers, The Bella Twins and Lita will be appearing in the match.
