It has been announced that Johnny Gargano will be appearing at Starrcast V where he will address his wrestling future.
Johnny Gargano hasn’t wrestled since appearing at NXT WarGames on December 5th. On the following episode of NXT 2.0, Gargano cut an emotional promo where he said goodbye to the fans who had supported him since he joined the company in 2015.
After the appearance on NXT 2.0, Gargano’s contract expired on December 10th. While the star later revealed that he always planned to become a free agent, so that he would have time off for the birth of his first child, rumours of a comeback have now become more frequent.
On numerous occasions it has been speculated that Gargano would be appearing with AEW, most recently as the ‘Joker’ entrant in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. On that occasion the mystery wrestler was revealed to be the former John Morrison, under the name Johnny Elite.
Following Gargano’s non-appearance on Dynamite, it has been announced that the star will be heading to Nashville for Starrcast V. In the post announcing his appearance, it was teased that the former NXT star will be updating fans on his next move.

Starrcast V will be headlined by Ric Flair, as the 16-time World Champion laces up his boots one more time. It has been reported that Flair will team with FTR at the event to take on the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express and a third man. Ricky Steamboat was approached to be the final piece of the puzzle but he has since turned the invitation down.
It has also been announced that Inside The Ropes’ very own Kenny McIntosh will be hosting a special panel featuring Bret Hart, as he looks back on his legendary clash with the British Bulldog at SummerSlam 30 years ago.
