Johnny Gargano hasn’t competed on WWE television since losing to Omos on the November 21st episode of WWE Raw. While he was instrumental in Dexter Lumis’ feud with The Miz on TV, he continued competing on WWE live events until the December 30th show in Toronto, ON, where he teamed with Lumis to defeat The Miz and Baron Corbin.
Now, during the latest episode of WWE Raw, it was mentioned on commentary that Johnny Gargano was at home after suffering an injury.
Taking to social media to update his fans on his condition, Johnny Gargano confirmed that he had indeed suffered a shoulder injury in Toronto, ON, the same venue where he made his return to WWE back in August. The live event in question took place on December 30th, and he’s been out of action since that time, saying that WWE’s medical staff is protecting him from his own decisions. He also made it clear that he hopes to be ready to compete again by the time the WWE Royal Rumble comes to San Antonio, TX on January 28th.
“I injured my shoulder at a live event in Toronto (ironic?), and the medical team is going to protect me from myself for a bit.. but you better believe I’m going to do EVERYTHING I can to get back in that ring so I can be that guy you all know I can be. Just let me in that Rumble!

Johnny Gargano’s Wife Candice LeRae Was In Action On WWE Raw
On the latest episode of WWE Raw, Cathy Kelley interviewed Candice LeRae about her husband Johnny Gargano’s injury. After saying that the goal is to get Gargano back to 100%, the pair were interrupted by Rhea Ripley, who told LeRae that she was delusional if she thought she had any chance of winning the Royal Rumble.
Later in the night, Rhea Ripley and Candice LeRae went head to head inside the ring, and despite her best effort, LeRae wasn’t able to overcome Ripley’s power and size advantage. Ripley pinned LeRae after hitting the Riptide.
Elsewhere on the January 9th episode of WWE Raw, Bobby Lashley made his return to the red brand for the first time in nearly a month and declared that he would be entering the Royal Rumble. Full results from the latest episode can be found here.
