Johnny Gargano believes a former member of his stable The Way, is ready to move up to the main roster in WWE.
Before he decided to depart from WWE in December 2021, Johnny Gargano led a stable on NXT called The Way. The group consisted of his wife Candice LeRae, Austin Theory, and up-and-coming female star Indi Hartwell.
While Theory has since come up to the main roster and already has won championships, Hartwell remains on the developmental brand. She recently competed in a match against Blair Davenport on the August 23rd episode of NXT.
In an interview with Ryan Satin on the Out of Character podcast, Gargano spoke highly of his former The Way stable member and explained why he believes she’s ready to move up to the main roster.
“Indi has been ready for a long time. Indi is amazingly talented. … Whenever that light comes on, she just has something about her, and I can’t put my finger on it. … She is incredibly entertaining, incredibly funny. I think, for my money, she is the complete package.”
In addition to her time in The Way, Hartwell was involved in a romantic storyline with current Raw star Dexter Lumis. The two briefly reunited after Hartwell’s match against Davenport on NXT.
Meanwhile, Gargano is just getting started on the main roster. He’s set to team with Kevin Owens to take on Alpha Academy’s Chad Gable and Otis next week in tag team action on Monday Night Raw.
