Former WWE Superstar Rene Dupree has alleged that John Laurinaitis threatened to fire him every other week during his time in WWE.
Rene Depree has been talking about John Laurinaitis as of late, saying that he had tried to make Dupree fear for his job on purpose while he was working for WWE.
Talking on his Cafe de Rene podcast, Rene Dupree claimed that Laurinaitis threatened to release Dupree from his contract a number of times:
“Johnny was always a pain in my a**, man, threatening to fire me every other week, ‘I could fire you, Rene. I could fire you, Rene,’ and then the next week he’d be cool, and then the next week he’d be a pr*ck. I just got so sick of f*cking even looking at the guy.”
Rene Dupree worked for WWE between 2003 and 2007. He left WWE after requesting his release, but had agreed to come back in 2010 until John Laurinaitis allegedly stopped answering his calls.
After wrestling for WWE, Dupree became a well-known quantity on the independent scene, wrestling for a range of companies including All Japan Pro Wrestling, Wrestle-1, and Pro Wrestling NOAH. During his time with WWE, Dupree became a two-time WWE Tag Team Champion with Sylvain Grenier and Kenzo Suzuki, respectively.
John Laurinaitis has recently been removed from his role as Head of Talent Relations, with Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque taking over the role yesterday, the same day that his father-in-law Vince McMahon announced he was permanently retiring as Chairman, CEO, and Head of Creative from the company.
