The John CenaWWE retirement tour is set to kick off in 2025 and more details have been provided.
Following Cena’s announcement back in July that he would be embarking on one final run the following year, promotional material has stated that “The Last Time Is Now” for the 16-time World Champion, referencing his signature entrance song.
On November 27th, John Cena was confirmed to be in action at Elimination Chamber in Toronto, marketed as Cena’s “Last Time Ever” in the city. With 36 dates to fill as part of the tour, it appears that Cena will only be doing the major shows.
As discussed on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Cena will not be running any repeat cities as part of his retirement tour and the tagline “The Last Time In [City]” will be a prominent feature:
“He’s gonna be working most of the big shows this [upcoming] year,” Meltzer said. “I think it’s 35, 40 dates. … Probably he’s going to run 35 different markets during 2025. And every one — or every one maybe except for New York, maybe he’ll do multiple shows — but most of those 35 are going to be ‘John Cena’s last time in…’ San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas, whatever. That’s what the year is going to be — a whole bunch of farewells.”
When Will John Cena Kick Off Retirement Tour?
Although the dates will be limited, Cena has already confirmed 3 of the 36 shows that will make up the tour. The final farewell will officially kick off on January 6th as Cena has been announced as one of the many guests on the Netflix Raw premiere. In addition to this, John Cena has confirmed that he will be in attendance at the 2025 Royal Rumble.
