John Cena Attacks Popular WWE Official At Night Of Champions

WWE Universal Champion John Cena

A WWE official got involved with the action during John Cena vs. CM Punk at Night of Champions PLE tonight.

John Cena vs. CM Punk for the Undisputed WWE Championship was the headliner for Night of Champions, and it was filled with several exciting and surprising moments. Among them was a spot involving The Best in the World almost becoming the new champion, but referee Dan Engler got taken out.

Punk pinned Cena, and if a referee was present, the challenger would’ve gotten a three-count and more. In the official’s absence, Seth Rollins’ faction emerged. After Bronson Reed, Bron Breakker, and Seth Rollins took out Punk, Mr. Money in the Bank called for a referee. Charles Robinson ran out from backstage, but was taken out by The Last Real Champion before he made it to the ring.

Despite Seth Rollins attempting to cash in his contract, Sami Zayn and Penta emerged to even the numbers, leaving Punk and Cena back alone in the ring again. After what seemed like both men making up, John Cena was able to capitalize on CM Punk lowering his guard to capture the win.

It remains to be seen what is next for Punk and Cena after WWE Night of Champions.
