John Cena has dropped a further tease about his final match, not wanting it to take place in the United States.
Being completely honest with fans in recent interviews, John Cena has made it apparent that he will have his final match before he hits a major milestone. With Cena being one of the biggest stars in WWE in recent years and being a part of the company for over 20 years, many are expecting something big when the time comes.
Cena recently appeared on The One Show in London. During the appearance, Cena declared that while he does not want to choose his opponent for the last match, he would like it to take place in the same arena as Money in the Bank 2023:
“I go by the construct in the life of never trying to pick my opponents because that’s way above my pay grade. But I have been an active advocate for London to host WrestleMania. A lot of people think when I go out in the middle of the ring and I say that it is just for the local moment and we want to make the show happy. Fans in the UK, WWE fans, they’re the best. Fans in London specifically will let you know how they feel. I don’t think I’ll be able to choose my opponent but if I could choose a venue it’d be the O2 in London.”
"UK Fans of @WWE are the best!" 🥊

Back in July 2023, Cena made an unannounced appearance at the Premium Live Event and acknowledged the passionate UK crowd. In a shocking announcement, John Cena made the plea for London to host a future WrestleMania, much to the delight of the fans in the O2 Arena. At the time of writing, no further WrestleMania locations have been announced beyond WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia. Additionally, although UK fans have seen Clash at the Castle and Money in the Bank hosted in the country in the past couple of years, it appears that there will be no big shows in the UK in 2024 as Germany and France have already been confirmed as future locations.
In a recent interview, AJ Styles stated that he would like to face John Cena one more time before he retires.
John Cena Received Legal Permission To Return To WWE
The 16-time World Champion is currently taking part in a media tour to promote the movie Argyle, in which Cena will star alongside Hollywood megastars Henry Cavill and Bryce Dallas Howard. Cena’s recent return to professional wrestling in September and October 2023 was largely in part to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, which shut down all TV and movie projects until further notice. Discussing the logistics behind the return, John Cena revealed that he received permission from SAG-AFTRA to have an extended run with the company.
In an interview with Logan Paul, John Cena admitted to hypocrisy and regret with his rivalry against The Rock.
