WWE Champion John Cena is open to this idea of a surprising Hollywood partnership.
Defeating Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41, John Cena won his 17th World title and kickstarted his retirement tour. Apart from his wrestling career, Cena also enjoys a career in Hollywood on the side. One of the most popular actors in the industry, The Leader of Cenation is widely known for his work in multiple films; however, his work as DCEU’s Peacemaker has earned him worldwide recognition.
Peacemaker first appeared in the 2021 Suicide Squad film and was later adapted into a television series by James Gunn, who is also known for his remarkable work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Both DCEU and MCU originate from the comic books, and the two have also generated a popular rivalry amongst their fans.
Recently, while speaking at the Fan Expo Dallas, Cena opened up on the idea of joining the MCU in the future. While not sharing a direct answer, Cena expressed how he hopes to see both studios work together in the future.
“I know we all love a good rivalry, right? Here’s what I know about comics and superheroes. They run parallel to sports entertainment fans. The fandom and the passion that I see in the superhero universe, whether it’s DC or Marvel, reminds me of passionate WWE fans. Here is my vision. Here is my hope for the future. Everybody plays nice in the same sandbox. I would love Iron Man to shake hands with Superman. Like I would love to see all superheroes across all platforms be involved in a universe. So if that happens and I get my wish as a member of the DC, I would essentially walk into the MCU.
I don’t write the checks and make the parts. So right now my answer’s gotta be no. But I hope there is a world where I see all these passionate people come for comics and superheroes. I hope we can have different debates because everyone will, it’ll just give us more stories to tell and more creativity. And I know I’m going to get punched in the face by critics for saying this, but my long-term vision is we can tell stories with characters from both sides of the fence. Can’t we all just get along and make some good comic books and good stories?”

The second season of the series, currently slated for release on August 21st, 2025, will feature Cena’s return as Peacemaker. Cena is now scheduled to face CM Punk on the June 28th edition of Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
John Cena Has Made His Choice Between Acting And Pro-Wrestling
During his recent appearance at the Fan Expo Dallas 2025, John Cena made the tough choice between acting and pro-wrestling. Taking the tough call, Cena revealed and justified his answer.
“Acting they hurt your feelings a lot too though. I don’t know if you’ve seen some of my stuff. I read the reviews. They will they will hurt your feelings. Uh to be quite honest and this is not a knock. I don’t think this is going to lose me any movie jobs because I do give my all to every opportunity I have. Just like we’re here today I’m trying to answer all your questions. I love wrestling so much more. So much more.”
