John Cena is set to be the next guest on The Broken Skull Sessions with Stone Cold Steve Austin.
The 16-time World Champion will follow in the footsteps of the likes of The Undertaker, Randy Orton and most recently WWE Champion Bobby Lashley. The appearance will be Cena’s first on the show.
The episode is currently set to air on September 26th, the same day as WWE Extreme Rules. The show will be available on Peacock in the United States and on the WWE Network everywhere else.
John Cena recently returned to WWE at Money In The Bank where he entered into a rivalry with Universal Champion Roman Reigns. The weeks of verbal sparring eventually led to a match between the pair at SummerSlam.
At the event Cena failed to capture a record 17th World Champion despite throwing just about everything at the Tribal Chief.
Cena pulled out all of the stops against his younger, full-time rival but Reigns always found a way to fight back. Cena landed an Attitude Adjustment, an Attitude Adjustment from the top rope, as well as locking in the STFU, but the champion kept coming back. In the end Cena set Reigns up for a Spear, imitating him in the process, but it was champion who landed the move first, sealing the win.
After the match, Cena took to social media to thank the fans for an “unforgettable summer.” He added that his journey will take him away from WWE for now, but he’ll be back soon.
John Cena is scheduled to appear at a blockbuster edition of SmackDown at Madison Square Garden on September 10th.
