John Cena has been confirmed to make a rare meet-and-greet appearance, as the Peacemaker star is scheduled for this year’s Comic-Con Wales.
Although he remains one of the most polarising figures in wrestling history, John Cena has drastically cut back on his appearances on WWE programming. Now classed as a part-time performer, Cena hasn’t wrestled regularly since 2018, outside of a house show loop in 2021.
Because of this, and his increasing obligations on the big screen, it’s become progressively rarer for John Cena to make a public appearance. For instance, he hasn’t appeared at WrestleMania Axxess for the last few years.
Members of the Cenation will, however, be able to meet the man himself as the 16-time World Champion has been announced for Comic-Con Wales. Crucially, Cena will only be appearing on the Sunday date (7 August), not the Saturday date.

Emanating from ICC Wales in Newport, this will mark the inaugural Comic-Con Wales under the Monopoly Events banner. Other shows scheduled to be represented at the event include names from the world of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Cobra Kai, The Walking Dead, and Sabrina The Teenage Witch.
John Cena last wrestled on television when he challenged Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at last year’s SummerSlam, though he did wrestle a dark match following the 10 September SmackDown. He’s since returned to WWE programming, appearing on the 27 June Monday Night Raw to celebrate his 20th anniversary.
Away from the ring, Cena made his acting debut when he starred in WWE Studios’ The Marine. Since then, he’s been credited in productions such as Daddy’s Home, Bumblebee, and Suicide Squad. He’s currently playing the role of Peacemaker, his character from the latter of those films, in its own titular series.
