John Cena – “There’s No Way I Can Go On Record And Say I Don’t Love Vince McMahon”

John Cena Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon initially retired in July 2022 surrounded by allegations of sexual misconduct. It was claimed that he paid numerous women a series of “hush money payments” in order to suppress the allegations.

On January 19th, 2023 it was reported that McMahon had reached a settlement with former referee Rita Chatterton. The settlement was in relation to a 1986 incident where Chatterton alleged that she was raped by McMahon.

The news of the agreement came after it was reported in 2022 that McMahon had reached a number of legal settlements with former employees in relation to other allegations. In one instance he paid a former wrestler $7.5 million after she claimed that he had coerced her into giving him oral sex.

However, despite this, McMahon returned to WWE and the Board of Directors in January and was elected Executive Chairman.

Throughout the last 20 years, it’s no secret that McMahon has enjoyed a close relationship with John Cena. Speaking to the Associated Press, Cena has come to the defence of McMahon stating “we all have poor decisions.” He added that he still loved the Executive Chairman.

“No. I mean, everyone has the right to have their perspective. I have the right to have mine. When you love somebody, you take them as imperfectly perfect as they are. We all make mistakes, we all have poor decisions. Lord knows I’ve made my collection of poor choices. That doesn’t mean I’m not going to love somebody. There’s no way I can go on record and say I don’t love Vince McMahon.”

Vince McMahon Recently Visited John Cena On Raw

On March 6th John Cena returned to WWE for the first time since December. On Raw the star ended up in a confrontation with Austin Theory and a match was set for WrestleMania. The show was also notable for a backstage appearance from Vince McMahon. It was believed that McMahon was there to visit Cena after the two had met multiple times outside of WWE in recent months.
