As the Royal Rumble approaches, discussion is already beginning to take place about plans for WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles, CA. There’s heavy speculation that John Cena will be involved in the star-studded Hollywood event, though his role has not been confirmed at this time.
The Peacemaker star, well known for teasing fans with cryptic social media posts, fueled more speculation about his rumored role on the Grandest Stage Of Them All when he posted a photo of Logan Paul along with his brother Jake on his Instagram account. In the graphic, Logan can be seen with a WWE Championship over his shoulder. Rumors have been swirling that Paul may be headed for a clash with Cena, something Paul himself has pitched to Triple H.
This post comes despite reports that Cena filmed a mystery segment with Austin Theory while he was working with WWE on December 30th. Cena and Theory have long been rumored to face each other at some point in the future, and a recent report from Dave Meltzer indicated that this was indeed the plan for April’s two-night extravaganza, despite rumors and speculation about Paul.
Logan Paul Wants To Wrestle John Cena At WrestleMania 39
On a November episode of his Impaulsive podcast, Logan Paul made it clear that he wants to face Cena in Los Angeles, saying that he texted Triple H about the match in order to “break the Internet.”
“After the Crown Jewel event, John Cena posted about me on his Instagram. And then I saw an article saying he’s looking for an opponent at WrestleMania,” Paul explained. “I favorited it, responded with “the eyes”. I mean, truthfully, I think me vs. John Cena would break the internet. I texted Triple H right away, ‘do you want to break the internet again?’ That’s a dream matchup, dude: at WrestleMania, in LA, on my birthday. Triple H, throw me a bone, give me a birthday present, let me take out John Cena. And that’d be crazy.”
“I think that’s the model I’m going to pitch to WWE, to give you an insight into what our meetings look like” he added. “This week, we’re meeting with them, I’m just going to be like, ‘Hey, this works for me. Put me up against the best y’all have, I’m gonna f****** deliver. You know that for a fact. Not only to put on an amazing match, but I’m going to put asses in seats and eyeballs glued to the television.” (h/t F4Wonline)
Cena recently returned to in-ring action for the first time since the summer of 2021, teaming with Kevin Owens to defeat the team of Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn on the December 30th episode of SmackDown.
