John Cena made a surprise appearance in Kansas City this week, appearing before the live crowd after Raw went off the air. The ‘Doctor of Thuganomics’ would even take part in the post-show dark match, teaming with the ‘Original Bro’, Riddle.
Cena made his sensational return to WWE at recent pay-per-view, Money in the Bank. Following a confrontation with WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Cena, a 16 time World Champion, would go on to challenge Roman for the Championship.
Though he did not appear on the most recent broadcast of Raw, John Cena surprised the live crowd at the T-Mobile Arena in Kansas City, Missouri by taking the ring after the show went off the air. Several fans in attendance noted online that Cena’s entrance received the biggest reaction of the night. John had also participated in a recent dark match on Smackdown, picking up his first WWE victory since 2019, partnering with Rey and Dominick Mysterio.

Riddle then joined Cena, with the pair facing Mace and T-BAR. As noted by fans, Riddle worked the majority of the match. However, Cena got the hot tag and hit all of his signature moves. Ultimately, Cena and Riddle picked up the victory before posing together in the ring.
Plans remain unclear in relation to the duration of Cena’s return. However, the former world champion is currently scheduled to appear at the upcoming Smackdown, as well as a number of WWE’s non televised Supershow’s. Dubbed the ‘Summer of Cena’, WWE’s most recent house shows have been a mix of top talent from both Smackdown and Raw.
Currently, John Cena’s next scheduled raw appearance is set for August 6th at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. Cena is also scheduled to appear at Madison Square Garden on September 10th.
