“Because The Final Boss Says It?” – John Cena’s Sudden Face Turn Questioned By Top Star

Cody Rhodes and John Cena on WWE Smackdown

Top WWE star isn’t a fan of John Cena‘s babyface turn.

John Cena shocked the world at the 2025 Elimination Chamber when he suddenly turned heel by attacking Cody Rhodes and siding with The Rock and Travis Scott. At WrestleMania 41, The Cenation Leader defeated The American Nightmare for the Undisputed Championship with the help of the rapper.

The historic 17-time World Champion then went on to defend the title against the likes of Randy Orton and CM Punk as a heel. At SummerSlam, Rhodes and Cena’s rematch for the gold was confirmed. Ahead of The Biggest Party of the Summer, John shockingly returned to being a babyface with a simple promo after stating The Final Boss and the Fein-artist left him alone.

Many fans were glad to welcome back the “real” John Cena, even if he lost the Undisputed title to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam after an epic Street Fight match. However, one star who doesn’t share the same enthusiasm was his former tag team partner and upcoming opponent, Logan Paul.

Logan Paul Says John Cena Switching Back To A Babyface Was A Midlife Crisis

In a recent IMPAULSIVEepisode with Ariel Helwani, the discussion of SummerSlam was brought up. The guest noted that The Biggest Party of the Summer lived up to the hype, adding that he wasn’t a fan of Cena’s heel turn in the long run, which is why he liked the babyface turn.

Logan Paul then shared that he was disappointed in John becoming a good guy again. The Maverick shared that his former tag team partner turning babyface felt like he was seeking validation by the audience, noting that it felt like he was having a midlife crisis.

I’m a little disappointed in Cena personally, like as a fan and as a guy who knows him, just cause I saw the heel turn and I was like, ‘All right, like welcome to the bright side. You can just be yourself, and like people will accept you for that.” But then the switch up back to trying to be a babyface makes me feel like he’s like seeking outside validation and he’s being guided by the audience instead of himself. And it feels like to me we’re watching like a midlife crisis happen.”

The former United States Champion continued by stating John’s decision to turn face by stating it was a weak move and he should have stayed in his lane. Not only that, but they also questioned Cena’s reasons for the character change by wondering if The Rock or Triple H was behind it.

Who are you? Do you even know? Are you just doing it because The Final Boss says it or Triple H says it? Are you being puppeteered by the powers that be? Or why don’t you just be yourself and be the GOAT John Cena? But I saw that fade a little bit and I have to say I’m not into it.”

After being tag team partners at Money in the Bank, Logan Paul and John Cena are scheduled to share the same ring again, but now as rivals at the upcoming Clash in Paris event at the end of this month.
