John Cena Signs Deal With New Management Company

After eighteen years John Cena has signed a deal with a new management company which puts him in league with former rival, The Rock.

John Cena has signed a deal with talent management company WME, bringing his eighteen-year association with ICM to an end. The Hollywood Reporter states that the shake-up has come about following Cena’s former agent Dan Baime’s departure from ICM after twenty-five years to set up his own firm.

The report states that ICM had made approaches to try and keep Cena and for him to move to CAA which is in the process of taking over ICM. CAA is where current WWE President Nick Khan worked for many years prior to joining the sports entertainment behemoth.

The move also means that John Cena is now represented by the same company that looks after fellow wrestler-turned-actor, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. The Rock and Cena famously headlined WrestleMania 28 and 29 together during a heated on-screen rivalry.

John Cena’s acting career began in 2006 when he played the lead role in the WWE-produced picture, The Marine. From there Cena has carved out a successful career in Hollywood as he has appeared in hit franchises The Fast And The Furious and The Suicide Squad.

Cena recently took his successful role in the latter of those as Peacemaker and turned into a successful HBO series. The sixteen-time champion of the world is slated for a role in Loony Tunes’ upcoming movie, Coyote vs. Acme.
