John Cena does not enjoy all aspects of shooting movies.
Cena has followed in the footsteps of Dwayne Johnson, transitioning from the squared circle to becoming a well known name in Hollywood. The 16 time World Champion has become known to non-WWE fans with appearances in films such as The Suicide Squad and Bumblebee.
John Cena Plays The Role Of Jakob Toretto In F9
In 2021, Cena was introduced to the Fast and Furious fanbase, starring as the brother of Vin Diesel’s character Dominic Toretto. Fast 9 was shot in multiple locations around the world, with Thailand, The United States and Scotland being some of the locations used.
While filming in the Scottish capital of Edinburgh, Cena would discuss with the BBC both his love of the city and his enjoyment at getting to cause some chaos while filming:
“The varying terrain – the beautiful look of the buildings – it’s a very definable city, but it also a great landscape to say ‘yeah let’s destroy some of this, this would be fun’.
In the same interview, Cena would describe one part of the process that left him heartbroken:
“The only thing that broke my heart in Edinburgh and I saw this first hand – they wrecked a $250,000 limited edition Jaguar in front of my eyes. I couldn’t scream out loud because I was on camera but a piece of me was heavily hurt to see that jag just get totalled.”
John Cena’s love of cars expands beyond the acting world, as the WWE legend owns a $50,000 car with some very unique modifications.
While only making occasional appearances live in front of the WWE Universe, the former WWE Champion will be in action on the final SmackDown of 2022. Fans will see Cena team with Kevin Owens to take on the team of Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn. The match on December 30th will keep alive Cena’s streak of wrestling at least one match a year since 2002.
