One of John Cena’s upcoming projects in Hollywood includes working directly alongside Jason Momoa. the pairing, after their first meeting on the set of Fast X, was reportedly eager to let their chemistry as part of its own project.
Cena and Momoa are veterans of DC Comics movies. Cena is best known for his role as Peacemaker and Momoa, through multiple portrayals, has become synonymous with the Aquaman character. Now, these veterans of the blockbuster action-movie world are teaming up for a new action comedy under the Warner Bros umbrella.
John Cena And Jason Momoa Are Set For A ‘Killer Vacation’
As first reported by Variety, John Cena and Jason Momoa are slated to star in the new action-comedy film “Killer Vacation.” While there is no date set for the release of the film, those familiar with the movie compare it to the 1994 “True Lies.” The script for “Killer Vacation” was written by Mark and Brian Gunn. It will be produced by John Rickard and Peter Safran. The film was reportedly set prior to Peter Safran taking on alongside James Gunn at the head of Warner Bros. Discovery’s DC Films unit.
Jason Momoa has worked with a wrestling rival of John Cena, Batista as part of Apple TV’s “See.” John Cena’s Peacemaker will be returning for season 2 of its titular series on HBO Max. Cena worked closely with Peter Safran and James Gunn in crafting his Peacemaker role.
Cena is currently slated for roles in “Fast X” and the Looney Tunes film adaptation, “Coyote vs. Acme.” Cena will next star in “Freelance,” an upcoming action-comedy film directed by “Taken’s” Pierre Morel.
