It appears John Cena is not only a ‘Peacemaker’ in the DC universe, but now also in the WWE universe as well.
After Monday Night RAW went off the air, Cena reunited Randy Orton and Riddle.
The August 9th edition of RAW saw the return of Randy Orton after seven weeks away. Prior to be stepping away from TV, Orton had formed one half of the WWE’s oddest couple with Riddle. The pair affectionately known as RK-Bro began to pick up some momentum, despite Orton’s contempt for his partner.
After Orton arrived back on the red brand, Riddle tried to rekindle the partnership, only to be rebuffed by The Viper. Riddle attempted to get back in Orton’s good graces at numerous points during the show, but was ultimately unsuccessful.
Despite being told not to come to ringside during Orton’s clash with AJ Styles, Riddle arrived as the match headed to a conclusion to help Orton claim victory. After the match, the pair embraced in the ring much to Orton’s discomfort. Although the harmony was short-lived as The Legend Killer quickly hit an RKO on Riddle as the show went off the air.
With the TV show over, John Cena made his entrance for his match teaming with Damian Priest to take on Jinder Mahal and Veer. Before focusing on business, Cena joined Riddle and Orton for a group hug in the middle of the ring.
The appearance marked the latest stop in the ‘Summer of Cena’ as the 16-time champion heads for a showdown with Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.
Back on RAW, Cena’s tag team partner for the night also has his eyes on championship gold at ‘The Biggest Party of the Summer.’ After seeing off the challenge of John Morrison, Damian Priest called out US Champion Sheamus. After some verbal back and forth, Priest challenged the Irishman to a match at SummerSlam which the champion quickly accepted.
