John Cena Comments On Potential WrestleMania 38 Appearance

John Cena WrestleMania

John Cena has given an update on whether fans might see him at WrestleMania, describing WWE as home.

On July 18th at Money In The Bank 2021, John Cena returned to a WWE ring for the first time in 15 months to confront Universal Champion Roman Reigns. This led to a huge showdown between the pair at SummerSlam as Cena attempted to win a record 17th World Championship.

However, Cena was unsuccessful in his attempt to make history and left the company once more following a dark match at Madison Square Garden on September 10th.

Speaking in a new interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Cena addressed his WWE future. The sure-fire Hall of Famer appeared to rule out an appearance at WrestleMania 38 in Dallas, but said that fans have not seen the last of him in a WWE ring.

“WrestleMania is usually in late March, early April. I don’t know if I’m going to make it this year. That’s a good conundrum to have because there are a lot of good opportunities coming up, which I would love to take. If all those things line up, I don’t know if I’ll be able to make WrestleMania. I will tell everybody watching, I’m not done with WWE by a long shot. That’s my home, I love it. I was able to go back during the summer for a few months and entertain audiences when they welcomed audiences back to arenas and I’ve far from had my last performance,”

John Cena hasn’t appeared at a WrestleMania since being defeated by ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt in a Firefly Funhouse match at WrestleMania 36 in 2020. Cena missed the most recent spectacular due to his filming schedule, meaning that he was absent from the card for the first time since 2002.

Cena’s latest project “Peacemaker” premieres on HBO Max on January 13th.

WrestleMania 38 will be held on April 2nd and 3rd at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
