As first reported by Mike Johnson at PWInsider, former 16 time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena has married his long time partner, Shay Shariatzadeh.
The happy couple tied the knot in a secret ceremony on Monday October 12 in Tampa, Florida and were said to have been dating since March 2019.
Earlier this year, speculation was rife that the couple had become engaged but neither confirmed the rumours as true thanks to John Cena’s previous stance on marriage.
John Cena was previously married to Elizabeth Huberdeau from 2009 to 2012 and engaged to former WWE and Total Bellas Star, Nikki Bella, after the mega-star proposed in the middle of the ring at WrestleMania 33 after the pair had defeated The Miz and Maryse in a Mixed Tag Team Match.
However, as their relationship played out on the Total Bellas reality show, viewers soon realised that Cena’s ideas of marriage and children were different to most. After pre-nuptial agreements, disagreements about children and moving in together, the pair announced they had split on April 16, 2018.
Nikki Bella is now engaged to former Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing With the Stars professional, Artem Chigvintsev, with the couple welcoming a baby boy on July 31.
