John Cena Honors Dolph Ziggler After WWE Exit

John Cena makes his entrance

John Cena knows the “hustle, loyalty and respect” Dolph Ziggler gave to WWE.

Dolph Ziggler was closing in on two full decades with WWE before being released on September 21 and the quantity nor quality of his matches did not go unnoticed by John Cena. Cena is back for an extended run with WWE and this one will be without his long-time colleague. The future WWE Hall Of Famer took to social media to acknowledge all the work Ziggler has done that course of time.

“One thousand five hundred and fifty four matches.”

Dolph Ziggler And John Cena Have Respect For One Another

Ziggler may be gone from WWE, but he’s certainly not forgotten as it wasn’t just Cena who tipped the cap to “The Show Off.” Big E also paid tribute to him as one of his mentors on the main roster.

However, even while in character, Ziggler took time to show some respect to John Cena. He had the following to say about John in a 2013 interview.

“What he represents for our company is awesome. He is our franchise guy. He’s the go to guy. He’s never not delivered with something. He connects with the crowd. He’s a great guy to have as the face of the company, for now.”

Ziggler unfortunately joined a list of many of who was released on Thursday including Mustafa Ali, Riddick Moss, Emma, Elias and fellow veteran, Shelton Benjamin. However, as of this writing, Ziggler is the only World Champion to be cut from the company.
