John Cena is set to return to WWE television on the March 6th episode of Monday Night Raw from the TD Garden in Boston.
The appearance will be the first from the 16-time World Champion since he teamed with Kevin Owens to defeat Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns on the December 30th edition of SmackDown.
Although it is unclear what Cena will be doing on the show, he has already proved to be a hit at the box office. It was recently noted that WWE has sold a further 2000 tickets for the show since it was confirmed that Cena would be appearing. This comes after he boosted both ticket sales and television ratings upon returning to SmackDown in December.
It had been reported that Cena might be unable to appear for WWE ahead of WrestleMania due to his hectic filming schedule. However, the man himself has now taken a second to hit back at those suggestions.
In a post on social media just hours ahead of his return, Cena said that contrary to what some “experts” might claim, it’s never impossible for him to make time for family and loved ones.
“Wrapped #RickyStanicky early Saturday! Excited for first day on set of #GrandDeathLotto 2day! Then..BOSTON @WWE
#RAW 2nite! “Experts” said it was impossible for me 2 appear on the road to #WrestleMania Guess they C ME. It’s never impossible 2 make time 4 family & loved 1s”
Austin Theory Planning Warm Welcome For John Cena
Speaking after his latest United States Title defence on Raw, Austin Theory was in a bullish mood about Cena’s comeback. After earlier questioning why Cena had taken all of the headlines meant for him after his victory at Elimination Chamber, Theory promised to give the WWE legend a “warm, warm welcome” when he appears on Raw.
It has long been rumoured that the pair will meet one-on-one at WrestleMania 39.
