John Cena Hints At In-Ring Retirement

John Cena is potentially looking at winding down his legendary wrestling career.

Having debuted on the main roster against Kurt Angle in 2002, Cena has had at least one match a year every year since, tied Ric Flair with 16 World Championship reigns and has one of the longest lists of achievements in company history. The only asterisk on the Hollywood star’s WWE resume is that he has never held the Intercontinental Championship.

Speaking with Namastey India Special while in India as part of the Superstar Spectacle, Cena acknowledged that age is catching up with him and how happy he is that he was able to make the trip to India:

‘I’m leaning towards 50, and I don’t know how much longer I will be physically able to do it. I haven’t been here since 2006, this is the first time I’ve performed here and as my career hits the 21-year-old mark, I didn’t know if I was gonna have another chance. People talk about wanting to win championships, I just wanna spread the excitement that is WWE around the world and for me to call it a career without stopping in India would not have been right so I’m very very glad to be here. It means so much to me.”

John Cena Will Compete At WWE Fastlane

Having already competed at WrestleMania and the Superstar Spectacle in 2023, Cena has at least one more televised match to take part in. After The Bloodline took out AJ Styles on SmackDown, it appeared that John Cena would have to go it alone against Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa. However, just as it looked like Cena would be targeted by the group once again, LA Knight came to the rescue of John Cena and declared that he fight alongside the former World Champion at Fastlane.
