John Cena shared his candid thoughts about a certain match against Bray Wyatt being the toughest of his WWE career.
Cena is often called the G.O.A.T. (Greatest of all Time) for a reason. Through his 25-year career in WWE, the former Chain Gang Soldier has had great matches against some very noteworthy opponents.
Given the odds stacked against him, any of his matches could be touted as the toughest in his career; however, the Cenation leader recently revealed that the Firefly Fun House Match he had at WrestleMania 36 was his toughest.
John Cena Reveals Why Firefly Fun House Match Against Bray Wyatt Was A Challenge For Him
Speaking to Justin Barrasso, the 17-time former World Champion explained why this particular bout stood out to him, despite his career being full of highlight-worthy matches.
The clash was held during the pandemic, which already made things difficult. Cena revealed that the reason it was the toughest match of his career was because, despite Wyatt being a tough opponent, the bout was in many ways a fight against himself.
Cena said:
It’s the match I had in the Firefly Fun House. The reason that opponent was tough–and I know it was against Bray Wyatt – was because that was more or less a match against me. I’ll say that was my toughest match.”
The match was memorable for being one of the first cinematic matches, which saw Cena go on a journey through his whole career up to that point, and also included a fantasy element, where John Cena was shown to be a part of the nWo.
