John Cena “Closed Down” Brother’s Wedding With Dance Floor Fist Fight

John Cena vs Sami Zayn

Weddings are often remembered for their drama as well as being joyous family occasions. Something that rings true even if your name is John Cena.

Since the beginning of time, family members have been getting into it at weddings, as tensions, family feuds and alcohol run freely.

Appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, John Cena revealed how a generous gesture at his brother’s wedding resulted in a fist fight on the dance floor.

Cena was asked if he had ever been involved in a wedding fail, before diving into the incident at his brother Matt’s wedding.

“I think that’s something, kind of, we all have,” Cena responded. He continued, “Mine was my brother Matt’s wedding. I thought it would be a nice gesture to open the bar. Drinks are on me, that’s my gift to the bride and groom. Nobody would have to pay for anything.”

As many will testify, an open bar at a wedding can be fraught with more danger than a Barbed Wire Death Match. Something Cena and rest of the party found out the hard way. Luckily the brawl didn’t involve the groom, instead another of Cena’s younger brother’s Dan.

“So, I found out it was a mistake when my brother Dan and I got into a fistfight in the middle of the dance floor and closed the wedding down,” Cena recalled. “You could tell, right then and there, who were guests, and who were a member of the Cena family, because the guests were like, ‘What are you gonna do to stop it?’ and the Cena family’s like, ‘No, no, let ’em figure it out. Let ’em do it.’”

Cena also went on to confirm that he will be returning to WWE. He just doesn’t know quite when.

The 16-time World Champion has reportedly been in talks over an appearance at SummerSlam where he could face Roman Reigns.

“I will definitely be back to the WWE, I just don’t know when. […] I haven’t had my last match and I can’t wait to have my next match.”

John Cena has been absent from WWE since WrestleMania 36. At the event Cena was beaten by ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt in a Firefly Funhouse Match.

The WWE veteran is currently promotion is latest move Fast & Furious 9 where he stars alongside Vin Diesel.
