The October 10th episode of NXT is stacked with appearances from Paul Heyman and John Cena.
On the most recent edition of WWE’s third brand, Bron Breakker continued his villainous ways by trying to get into the head of Carmelo Hayes. Breakker tried to push a greater wedge between Hayes and Trick Williams, but his mind games didn’t quite go to plan.
Instead of pushing the pair apart, Hayes got a match booked against Breakker for seven days time and revealed that he’d been given advice by John Cena. Not only that, Cena would be in his corner for the match. The appearance will be Cena’s first in NXT for a decade.
However, there was another stunning twist to come. As the show went off the air, Paul Heyman appeared in a pre-taped segment to reveal that because Cena kept getting involved in Bloodline business, it was their time to reciprocate. This means that Roman Reigns has asked him to be in Breakker’s corner for his match with Hayes.
NXT on October 10th will also feature an appearance from Cody Rhodes, while Asuka will also be in action.
Due to the MLB playoffs, AEW Dynamite will be broadcast on October 10th, instead of the 11th. The move has sparked a great deal of conversation online, and not all of it good. On a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer called out the “weirdness” of some fans.
On the latest episode of the Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer has predicted that NXT will beat Dynamite in the ratings on October 10th.
John Cena Nearing In-Ring Retirement
Cena’s appearance on NXT will come just days after he returns to the ring to team with LA Knight to take on Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso at Fastlane.
In the lead-up to the match, John Cena again admitted that his wrestling career was coming to an end. The 16-time World Champion said that he’s not sure how much longer he’ll be physically able to wrestle given he’s 46 with a lot of miles on the clock.
