John Cena Addresses Likelihood Of WWE Comeback Match Post-Retirement For Big Money Offer

John Cena has discussed the possibility of wrestling in 2026 if the price is right.

Confirming that 2025 would be his final year as an in-ring competitor at Money in the Bank, Cena is preparing for the long goodbye as he looks to make a substantial number of appearances on WWE TV throughout the year.

While Cena has stated that he will be done from an in-ring standpoint, every man has his price. As previous comebacks from Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin have shown, the right cash or creative can be enough to bring anyone back for one last hurrah. However, when asked about this, Cena confirmed nothing would change.

Speaking with Liam Crowley of ComicBook, Cen stated that no monetary offer would convince him to change course and he will be true to his word:

“There isn’t a check writer with enough money to change my mind when I hang it up in December,” Cena said. “I don’t want to continue for ego or financial gain. I built a relationship of trust and authenticity over the years with the WWE, and that’s people who think I suck and people who believe in me, they know that I shoot them straight and I’m trustworthy. I mean what I say: when I’m done in December, I am done. It is the last time I will perform in a ring.”

Continuing, Cena added that he would continue to be a part of the company but the jorts would stay locked away:

“I’ll be a member of the WWE family as an ambassador and a grateful one. But you will see me wear this (points to suit), not the wristbands, the jorts, the ball cap. That, in December 2025, that goes away, and that’s the reason why we’re putting so much equity and emphasis on this farewell tour.

“It truly is the last time for generations for grandparents and parents and kids to get together in the same time. Grandparents could be like, ‘I didn’t know about wrestling and my son dragged me here.’ That son now has a son and daughter of their own, and they like John Cena, and now their kid likes Cody Rhodes. I want to try to do something special where we can all get together one last time and, and go through 25 years worth of memories.”

Will John Cena Come To The UK?

While fans in the United States and Canada are optimistic that they will be able to see Cena in their hometown, fans overseas, especially in the United Kingdom, are hopeful that a Cena date will be added to the tour. Speaking in a seperate interview, John Cena addressed the likelihood of making a trip to the UK.

In a new interview, John Cena has confirmed how many dates are on the retirement tour.
