Joe Hendry has looked back on what has been an incredible 2024 and what his next goal is in the professional wrestling world.
The past 12 months have seen the TNA star become a major name in the industry thanks in part to his viral social media clips, catchy entrance theme and parody songs mocking his opponents. Despite not being signed to WWE, Hendry made multiple appearances for NXT as part of the ongoing talent exchange and quickly became one of the most popular acts on the brand.
Appearing as a guest on Busted Open Radio, Hendry reflected on his accomplishments and how it was very much worth the wait:
“It has been an insane year, but it’s been the best year. To me it’s proof that every dog has its day and it’s never too late as well … There were surprise appearances, there were crossovers between TNA and NXT. I’ve had some amazing opportunities, we got a song to the top of the charts, main event back-to-back TNA, WWE pay-per-views, front cover of Pro Wrestling Illustrated. It’s been the dream.”
Although Hendry was one of the most popular stars of 2024, he was never able to convert that popularity into championship glory as he came up short in TNA and in NXT. Putting his new goal out into the world, Hendry stated that he is now focused on finally becoming the new World Champion:
“I’m not the guy that gets over the first time. I’m the guy that tries, tries and tries again. Every time someone says my name, I appear and I never stop. And that’s the message I want to put out there — is when you have a goal, you have to chase it relentlessly and for me, it’s being the TNA World Champion.”
Joe Hendry Finds Huge Ally, Literally!
Throughout the year, many fans and wrestlers have declared themselves believers of The Prestigious One by sowing their support to the Scottish star. At a recent event, Joe Hendry found his biggest believer yet in the form of a WWE Hall of Famer.
