Joe Hendry is set for the biggest match of his TNA career.

After defeating Jake Something on the July 4th episode of Impact, Hendry has qualified for the six-way elimination match for the TNA World Championship at Slammiversary on July 20th. With the fans firmly behind Hendry, The Prestigious One hit the Standing Ovation onto Jake Something to win the match and take the final spot in the title match, joining Nic Nemeth, Frankie Kazarian, Steve Maclin and Josh Alexander in challenging Moose for the top prize in TNA at the upcoming show Montreal Canada.

Thanking the fans after the victory, Hendry stated that anything is possible if you believe and is very much the fans’ choice to emerge victorious at Slammiversary.

This will be the first time that Hendry has challenged for the World Championship in TNA and could be his second title win in the promotion after previously reigning as the Digital Media Champion.

Will Joe Hendry Appear At NXT Heatwave?

Following on from the thunderous ovation received on the June 18th episode of NXT with the arrival of Hendry, WWE fans have been clamouring for more appearances from the social media sensation and many have predicted that Hendry may make a shock appearance at the Heatwave Premium Live Event on July 7th. Speaking on the NXT media call ahead of the show, Shawn Michaels stated that he would love to work with Joe Hendry in the future:

“Clearly you could see what it was. It was my first time meeting Joe. Again, even for me not being the most skilled social media guy. You see his turnaround all the time from a social media standpoint. Clearly he is a bright young man. The short dealings that I had with him, I liked him a great deal. So again, nothing would thrill me more than to have the opportunity to work with Joe Hendry in the future. I think he would tell you the same thing, he is someone who wants to continue to grow and move up.

But right now, unfortunately, nothing to add at this point in time, but I think he’s a young man that’s very bright, and certainly has a very bright future and I appreciate the way he has generated this on his own and I think that always speaks well of somebody. Again, you used the words thinking outside of the box, he’s obviously done that and I always appreciate the intellect that it takes to grow outside the wheelhouse that they’re in.”

Appearing at NXT Heatwave, more details have emerged on Joe Hendry’s return.

Speaking in a new interview, Joe Hendry discussed the recent WWE and TNA partnership.
