Joe Hendry Attacked By WWE Star At TNA Rebellion

Joe Hendry Attacked By WWE Star At TNA Rebellion

Joe Hendry is still the TNA World Champion but did not stand tall at the end of the show.

Competing in the main event of the Rebellion Premium Live Event, Hendry successfully retained the title over Frankie Kazarian and NXT’s Ethan Page. However, the celebrations were cut short when Hendry was attacked by Trick Williams after the match. Williams first hit Hendry with a kick followed by the Trick Shot before grabbing the World Championship and placing it on Hendry to close out the show.

Following his surprise match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania, Hendry made another appearance on the April 22nd episode of NXT. Hendry called out Williams for being entitled, to which the former NXT Champion retorted that Hendry lost to Orton at WrestleMania and that he didn’t belong in WWE. The end of the segment saw Hendry and NXT Champion Oba Femi lay out Williams to stand tall.

Shawn Michaels Responds To Joe Hendry Attack

Aware of the attack at TNA Rebellion, Shawn Michaels took to social media to issue an open invitation to Hendry to appear on the April 29th NXT to settle his issues with Williams:

Trick Williams crossed the line NXT is everywhere – RAW, SmackDown and tonight at TNA Rebellion.

@JoeHendry you have an open invitation this Tuesday to come to @WWENXT, and settle this issue with Trick.

Hendry’s match against Orton became one of the highlights of WrestleMania and one of the most viewed clips on social media. In previously unreleased footage, Randy Orton gave some encouraging words to Joe Hendry after the match.
